The book concentrates on the impact of individualism on society and makes a poignant case for the welfare of the individual within society in so far as socio-political and religio-economic dimensions of life are concerned.Beginning with a dialectical development of the concept of the individual from late antiquity through to the period after the Enlightenment, the book seeks to empower the individual through both Western and Ghanaian concepts and particularly employs the historical narrative method.The individual is alerted of the real and possible crises of identity and is empowered to rise above the existing inconsistencies and to achieve an integral personality
