In the small village of Saharanpur, Raghav’s family lived a simple yet contented life. His father, Ram Singh, was a well-respected engineer, known for his honesty and kindness. Raghav, the eldest of thirteen siblings, shared a special bond with his father. Ram Singh often spoke of dreams for his children, especially Raghav, whom he believed would one day become a successful engineer & bring pride to their family.Because of Ram Singh’s honesty, kindness & his policies against the corruption, many contractors became his enemies as they did not have any free hand in the work. There was no scope of corruption. So one fateful evening, due to some disconnect in his ideologies with few contractors, ended in tragedy. Ram Singh was riding his motorcycle to work when a truck hit him from behind leaving him dead. He was brutally murdered but it was declared as an accident by the local police. He left behind his family in a state of shock and despair. At just ten years of age, Raghav’s childhood was abruptly replaced by the heavy burden of responsibility.'The Weight of Dreams' tells the poignant story of Raghav, a man whose life is defined by the weight of his dreams and the sacrifices he makes for his family. Raghav’s journey is one of relentless struggle, where duty and resilience shape his every decision. As he faces the harsh realities of life, Raghav’s commitment to his loved ones drives him to make choices that test his endurance and character. This narrative captures the essence of what it means to carry the burdens of ambition and family, offering a deep exploration of the ties that bind, and the strength required to navigate life’s most challenging moments.

Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
