Tricia Riley, a graduate student in medieval literature taking a course in the history of Christianity, has been seeking her life purpose for years. She is stunned to discover in the writings of a fourth century theologian an answer that rings true in her deep heart. As  she continues her quest, she finds historical verity, liturgical beauty, and charitable fellowship. While the way she sets upon is challenging, at each step she continues to find the authenticity she has been yearning for, and eventually the love of a man with whom to build a whole life. Yet as her faith matures, she begins to learn that the way of discipleship is the way of the Cross.Magdalen Dugan is the author of Breathing: The Way, and Homeless: The Truth? which are Book One and Book Two of the series In Heaven or on Earth. This novel, The Way: The Life is Book Three of the series. She is also author of the novel Lift My Eyes and several 'slim Volumes' of poetry, as well as book reviews, essays, and articles. With an MA in English from U.C., Berkeley and an MFA in writing from The University of San Francisco, she has taught literature and writing in the San Francisco Bay Area for decades, and is now writing and teaching in northern Texas. Her seeking and finding an authentic and saving way of life have inspired this story.
