The Stations of the Cross are the oldest walking prayer of the Western Church - the road from the judgment hall to the tomb, prayed at fourteen images in every Catholic church on earth, on every Friday of Lent and in many seasons besides.The Way of Sorrows sets the two great forms of that road side by side.
