After the long War in Heaven had finally come to its conclusion, God Almighty, the victor, passes a swift judgement down upon Lucifer and the renegade angels that sided with him, and have the rebellious spirits cast down to earth. Seething from the humiliating loss, and branded as outcasts, the fallen angels then wage THE WAR for the Souls of Man and attempt to drag as many of God’s beloved humans into the Lake of Fire with them before the final Judgment is carried out. Cazzbein, a veteran warring angel that had put his dual scimitars to the test during the first war, is assigned thousands of years later to watch over an undercover detective named Ethan Brooks. God has a very special purpose planned for the young human that will alter the course of the war forever. However, before God’s purpose can begin to flourish in Ethan’s life, Cazzbein must make sure the detective survives the underhanded tutelage of his two corrupt training partners, Tyler Lynch and Booker Briggs, as they show him the ropes in Rockford’s dangerous Anti-Gang Task Force. Along the way, Cazzbein, with companions Gunthar, the burly Warhammer wielding angel, the lovely Glistinia, with her wicked bow and arrow assault, and Anthony, the messenger angel with speed none can match, must overcome many daunting tasks that will even lead them through the bowels of hell itself, to ensure Ethan is not led down the road to ruin.  Hunter, a fallen angel that has always regretted his decision to turn against God, and who is obsessed in finding out if it is he or Cazzbein who is truly the best sword bearer the spiritual realm has to offer, works with his sniveling servant Dartamus to hinder the angels at every turn.  When Cazzbein at long last discovers that it has been an enormous half female, half snake, six armed archdemon named, Mistress Vixanna that has been the source of Ethan’s troubles, he and his angelic comrades embark on a final confrontation that even a member of the Heavenly Host may not return...

    Stuart Evans
Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
