The Voice of the Pack is a book written by Edison Marshall that tells the story of a man named Jim Thorne who becomes a member of a pack of wolves. The story is set in the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest in the early 1900s. Thorne is a hunter who is hired to kill the wolves that are preying on the livestock of a local rancher. However, when he is out in the wilderness, he is attacked by a pack of wolves and left for dead.To his surprise, Thorne is rescued and nursed back to health by the very wolves that attacked him. He soon learns to communicate with the wolves and becomes a member of the pack. Thorne begins to see the world from the perspective of the wolves and learns about their way of life. He realizes that the wolves are not the mindless killers that he once thought they were.As Thorne spends more time with the pack, he becomes conflicted about his role as a hunter and his loyalty to the wolves. He must decide whether to continue his job as a hunter, or to protect the pack that has become his family. The Voice of the Pack is a thrilling and thought-provoking book that explores the relationship between humans and animals. It is a story of survival, loyalty, and the power of communication. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world’s literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.

The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
