As a teenager, I wanted to go on a mission trip out of the United States. God was leading me to Cap-Haiti, and I felt immediate excited because I knew, He was going to open my eyes to see and experience first and the wealth disparities in Haiti that I had never witnessed in America. Reflecting on my Journey, I thank God that He taught me how to truly feel the gratitude for simplicities that so many of us take for granted if we are fortunate to live in highly developed and modern country such as the United States. Embarking on this mission reinforced for me the ways in which God can do the impossible things in His children’s lives, while simultaneously immersing others in the darkest of places. As I left, I resolved myself knowing that God’s children can live and face another daybecause Christ saves the brokenhearted.I encourage all those who hear God’s voice and seek to answer His call to consider taking a mission trip or any place to step away from their comfort zone. Also, to acknowledge God’s unconditional love for the unfortunate people around the world!
