I have faced many challenges often wondering if I would survive. My personal journal takes you one place or another where some of us have been at one point in our lives, consciously or unconsciously. My poems hold tales of abuse, being unwanted, and silenced by fear. They scream of pain, anger, judgment and ultimately survival. At twenty-two years old I found myself in a abusive relationship trapped, two children and eleven years later I escaped with very little of myself left. I struggled to move through the pain and shame I harbored within. I grew stronger with every breath I took and every word I wrote. I am in a position where I can say I have survived my abuser. I want anyone who has suffered abused to know there is hope. I can only hope that my collections of short poems; in which, describes part of my life journeys will be instrumental in helping to inspire someone who is experiencing some of the same challenges and to help them see that they are not alone. This is the reason this book is very important to me. Life is nothing short of being challenging I have learned this by living and surviving. Tawana Bradley
