God has always used marriage to describe the relationship He has with us and in some instances, He has referred Himself as the bridegroom and we the bride. To the Israelites he said they are betrothed to Him forever as a symbol of their covenant that bound them to God. We are the Israelite, the called and the chosen one. Now that we are joined with Him, how can we take the same body and join a harlot? We are the temple of God, the spirit of God in a man is the temple not built by hand. As the true worshipper of God, worship Him in spirit and in truth and not just in a geographical location. On this note a lot is expected from us children of God to keep our body holy within and without. God has admonished us through the Epistle of Apostle Paul for us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers as that will frustrate our walk in Christ as two cannot walk together except, they agree and light and darkness has nothing in common. Jesus Christ has made it possible for our body to become the indwelling of the Holy Spirit after his death on the cross and the coming down of the Spirit of God upon man. Every other sin we commit is outside the body but the sin of adultery and fornication is within the body and is like one destroying the temple and the dwelling place of the holy Spirit. God Himself is the one that will personally supervise this sin against oneself and He does not take it lightly.
