The Tempest of the Pale Horseman

A girl raised on lies. A feared man desperate for her light. Can hope and love survive the darkness determined to claim them both? From the outside, Evathia’s life looks perfect. Daughter of the Lord Sovereign-the most powerful man on the Northerly Coast-she lives safely within the clifftop Citadel, cherished by her mother, never without food or comfort, and protected from the deadly Horsemen she’s been taught to fear since childhood. But nothing is ever as it seems. Her father grows colder toward her with each passing day. Her mother is wasting away from a mysterious illness. And Evathia is little more than a prized trophy, sequestered away behind stone walls for some unknown purpose.Drawn across The Wastes by the pull of his Core, Azmaveth arrives to find a flourishing community steeped in deceit, ruled by a man desperate to secure his power. When a high-stakes competition is announced with a rare prize-the silver-eyed daughter of the Lord Sovereign-men come from near and far to claim the reward. Azmaveth enters the competition for one purpose alone: to prove to Evathia he’s not the monster she’s been led to believe, and to protect her from the true darkness that seeks to claim her. As secrets unravel and lies are exposed, Evathia’s world begins to fracture. With darkness closing in and her true purpose coming to light, she must decide what she believes, who she can trust, and if hope-and the seed of love growing in her heart-can survive the wreckage of everything she once knew.
