As a professor, Dr. Boctor taughtthe Arabic Language and Middle Eastern Culture and Area Studies at the LanguageInstitute in Monterey, California, as well as Diagnostic Evaluation Specialist, to enhancethe Arabic speaking skills of American students. Born to an evangelical pastor, the lateRev. Guirguis Habeel, she grew up actively involved in the church. She wrote monthlyarticles in the San Francisco Christian magazine “Al Manara”. She presented severalworkshops to students and teachers, including her co-presentation at the AmericanCouncil on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) in Washington D.C. in 2001.She was also the speaker on the Book of Revelation to women from the Middle East, atthe Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California.
