Tarzan was the son of a Lord and Lady who were marooned in Africa. After his parents died he was raised in the jungle by Great Apes. These epic stories were created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the first novel was entitled 'Tarzan of the Apes', and thereafter twenty-five other novels were written. Put aside expectations from movie and cartoon versions of the story, the book is much darker and Tarzan is a complex, interesting creation. The stories are fast paced adventures. This edition brings together the first eight novels, in the order in which Burroughs wrote them, a wonderful collection for anyone interested in these classic tales.
