The Son the Darkness Feared: The Awakening of Daniel by Mark Anthony Beverly follows Daniel, who wakes in a Dubai penthouse with a mounting sense that something is off - both within him and in the world around him. The story unfolds over four acts (Awakening, Revelation, War, Cosmic War) as he’s drawn back and forth between the earthly and supernatural realms, gradually uncovering a destiny bound to a group called 'the Twelve,' a longstanding dark force, and an identity he comes to bear - Azrion. In the end, he turns away from domination and toward self-sacrifice and redemption. The novel is grounded in Christian theology throughout, weaving in direct scripture (John 14:12, Romans 10:9-10), a father’s blessing to his sons, and a salvation-focused conclusion, all set against a supernatural-action backdrop reminiscent of Constantine.
