The Social Principles of Jesus

'The Social Principles of Jesus' explores the fundamental ethical and social teachings of Christ, positioning them as a transformative force for modern society. Written by Walter Rauschenbusch, a seminal figure in the Social Gospel movement, this work examines how the convictions of Jesus regarding the value of the individual, the solidarity of the human family, and the Kingdom of God provide a blueprint for addressing systemic social issues. The text is structured to challenge readers to apply the moral insights of the New Testament to the complexities of economic and social life. Rauschenbusch dissects the radical nature of Jesus’s message, emphasizing a commitment to justice, mercy, and the common good over mere ritualism or personal piety. As a foundational text in the history of American religious thought, 'The Social Principles of Jesus' remains a vital resource for scholars and laypeople interested in the intersection of faith and social reform. Its clear, compelling analysis offers a timeless perspective on how religious principles can inspire a more equitable and compassionate world. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
