People walking and running their dogs in the early evening on Toggleton Common have been seeing a fiery eyed, fierce looking creature coming out of the woods at the far side of the common. The sounds coming from the beast are hideous and frightening and scare every creature away, animal and human. After Chrissy and Joan see the beast for themselves they decide to investigate. Unearthing secrets concerning an old man living as a recluse in an old farmhouse near the common and his son’s disappearance over a year past, gradually come to light during their investigations, did the beast kill the boy. During their investigations Chrissy finds herself in frightening and compromising situations which seem impossible to escape from. Will they succeed in solving the mysteries?
