The world we live in is not perfect. It's not perfect because we live in it, but it should at least be pleasant. Maybe not all of the time but some of the time - pleasant, but not perfect. Well, 'The Land of Pleasant' is just that, and from time to time the pleasantness of this land is disrupted. Things spoil it: giants, monsters, ogres and other such things. It's a bit like life: just when everything is hunky-dory, someone spoils your day. These short stories are aimed at seeing beyond the problem, bringing a little light relief and sometimes offering you a hope and future that will help make life - your life - a little more pleasant, even if it is through the imaginary hatch of escapism, where your imagination paints the pictures and for a few moments, now and again, everything seems very pleasant - once again, not perfect but pleasant. Some places mentioned in these stories actually exist, but all the characters are fictitious - apart, that is, from the man from the other side.
