The Second Part of the Chronicle of Peru, originally published in 1883, is a historical account of the Spanish conquest of Peru written by Pedro de Cieza de Len. This book is a continuation of his earlier work, The First Part of the Chronicle of Peru, and covers the period from 1532 to 1550.Cieza de Len was a Spanish soldier and chronicler who arrived in Peru in 1533 with Francisco Pizarro, the Spanish conquistador who led the conquest of the Inca Empire. Cieza de Len traveled extensively throughout Peru and wrote extensively about the people, customs, and history of the region. The Second Part of the Chronicle of Peru is divided into three parts. The first part covers the period from 1532 to 1535 and describes the early stages of the Spanish conquest of Peru, including the capture of the Inca emperor Atahualpa and the establishment of Spanish rule over the region. The second part covers the period from 1536 to 1542 and describes the Inca rebellion against Spanish rule, led by the Inca emperor Manco Inca. This section also includes an account of the arrival of the Spanish conquistador Gonzalo Pizarro and his expedition to the Amazon. The third part covers the period from 1543 to 1550 and describes the consolidation of Spanish rule over Peru, including the establishment of colonial institutions and the conversion of the indigenous population to Christianity.Overall, The Second Part of the Chronicle of Peru is an important historical document that provides a detailed and firsthand account of the Spanish conquest of Peru and its aftermath. It is a valuable resource for historians, scholars, and anyone interested in the history of South America. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
