After writing of my climbs in the Great Andes in two separate books, I have decided to meld the two together in a single volume that I believe offers the most pleasing passages. I have altered them but little and only to insure continuity of time and place. I present the selected content from each book in their chronological order, that is, the climbs described in Clawing for the Stars, A Solo Climber in the Highest Andes, The Prelude (1989-1991), precede those presented in Clawing for the Stars, A Solo Climber in the Highest Andes (1992-2009).The title of this book is, The Sacred Sanctuary of the Great Andes.
