As the United Nations (UN) enters the 21st Century, it is faced with security challenges that were not seen by its creators. The end of the Cold War, globalization, intra-state conflict, and a desire to achieve universal human rights continues to separate the world. In order for the UN and developed nations to obtain any semblance of global governance to meet these new challenges, it will have to move beyond its traditional logic and employment of military forces for international peacekeeping operations. The benefits of global economic investment and individual liberties should be apparent to all as a positive outcome for the establishment and maintenance of the rule of law. This research effort focuses on the need for a United Nations Police Force. The objective of this work is to lay the political, philosophical, and economic framework for the majority consensus for such an idea.This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
