This study aims to obtain relevant data on the prevalence of suicidal ideation among medical residents at HGZ 20 La Margarita, as well as the main associated sociodemographic factors, thereby enabling the timely identification of cases and the provision of treatment and support for this health issue, which will improve their physical and mental health, as well as their quality of life. All of this will be reflected in improved academic and professional performance during and after the completion of their medical residency. Furthermore, it will enable the implementation of measures and/or programs for prevention and early detection to prevent suicide attempts or completed suicides resulting from these causes in future generations.
