The Rainy Day is a novel written by Harold Begbie and first published in 1908. The story follows the life of a young man named Richard Granger, who is struggling to make ends meet in London. Richard is a talented artist, but he is unable to find work and is forced to live in poverty. However, his life takes a turn when he meets a wealthy and beautiful woman named Florence. Florence offers to help Richard by giving him a job as a tutor to her young son. As Richard becomes more involved in Florence’s life, he begins to fall in love with her. However, Florence is already married and Richard must navigate his feelings while also dealing with the challenges of his own life. The Rainy Day is a poignant tale of love, class, and the struggles of life in early 20th century London. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
