The Queen’s Cup is a historical fiction novel written by George Alfred Henty and published in 1898. The story is set in the late 16th century during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I of England. The novel follows the adventures of two young Englishmen, Ralph Conway and his friend, Roger Morton, as they travel to Spain to participate in a jousting tournament known as the Queen’s Cup.Ralph and Roger are both skilled jousters and hope to win the tournament and bring honor to England. However, they soon find themselves embroiled in a dangerous political plot involving the Spanish Inquisition and the English ambassador in Spain. Along the way, they encounter a cast of colorful characters, including a beautiful Spanish noblewoman named Isabella, a cunning Spanish nobleman named Don Garcia, and a brave English sailor named Jack Stelfox. As they navigate the treacherous waters of politics and intrigue, Ralph and Roger must use all of their wit and skill to stay alive and complete their mission.
