These poems attempt to delineate the four divisions of my existence: physical, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional. Writing them has given me a greater understanding of myself, hence a greater understanding of you. I hope that you find some insights into your own life. The poems can best be appreciated by reading them aloud, with emotion. As I wrote them, I kept in mind that I was really writing them on the fabric of my readers’ minds. For two decades, I wrote and rewrote them, trying to make them worthy of the high honor you afford me by reading, and understanding, them. Nothing would please me more than knowing that a discussion group would choose this book. Thank you. Jack
