The term 'by the book' is given a whole new meaning in the life of Jesus Christ. There are hundreds of prophecies in the Bible that Jesus Christ fulfilled during his ministry here on earth. The Old Testament was written many years before the birth of Jesus Christ. Some of it was over one thousand years before his birth, yet Jesus managed to fulfil all the prophecies written about him. How could the men who wrote the books of the Old Testament possibly have known what they were writing would reflect the life story of one man? This is what I mean when I say Jesus lived his life 'by the book.'As you come to understand the many facets of the Bible, you begin to realise that there is no man on earth who could write a book like this. There can only be one author of this book, and that is Almighty God himself. We know there were about 40 scribes who wrote the books of the Bible, but they were all influenced by the Holy Spirit to write exactly what God wanted them to write. There can be no doubt that Jesus was a real person. He is all through the Bible, and there are many other secular books that speak about Jesus. Also consider the fact that our modern dating system is either BC (before Christ) or AD (AD stands for Anno Domini, Latin for 'in the year of the Lord'.) If he never existed, then why is the entire world’s dating system set around his birth? His life has impacted mankind in so many ways. How can anyone deny he existed?Adam and Eve sinned against God, and this caused a curse to come over all mankind. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life, even though he was tempted the same as any man is today. Yet he remained without sin. This allowed him to qualify as the only person to be able to remove the curse. This was the purpose of Jesus Christ, to restore the kingdom to Israel. The yet future kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom with Jesus the Messiah as the ruler. And the reward for those who give their lives over to this Messiah will be to enjoy an eternity in his perfect kingdom. This has always been the purpose of God. To reconcile the world to him through his son, Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
