In an effort to help two people they care about, Declan and Karuna team up with a journalist and a close friend to see what Oliver’s group, Quantum Awareness, is all about. What they discover is disturbing: Oliver has declared himself a prophet, assuming the name Amun, and started promoting a doctrine that takes QA members onto the stairway to heaven. As circumstances unfold, Declan and Karuna see the lengths the cult will go to preserve itself. Eventually a showdown between the dark horse couple and the dark ones in Quantum Awareness ensues with the Field of Reeds resting within perilous reach.
