Chilcotin author Virginia Bell accepts an invitation to spend time at a rural priory in Suffolk, only to find herself conducting an investigation to determine the dividing line between fact and fiction in a place where nothing is quite what it seems. The history of a local vicar, hanged as a witch, forms the cornerstone of a secret buried beneath the façade of a quaint English village since the 1600s.What does Virginia’s mysterious host know and why does she seem to be collecting writers both inside and outside her library? What lies behind the imposing stone walls of the priory’s physic garden? Only by crafting her own story can Virginia find the key to it all.A thematic epilogue to Bruce Fraser’s Chilcotin Trilogy, The Priory Witches is an intricate puzzle where stories nested inside stories reveal secrets hidden within secrets over centuries.
