The Prime Target is a fascinating and gruesome insight into the life and crimes of the serial killer, necrophiliac and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer whilst he resided at the Oxford Apartments in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the building where he murdered, dismembered and sometimes ate body parts of 12 of his 17 victims. The author, Sopa Princewill, was the resident manager at the Oxford Apartmentsfrom the time that Dahmer murdered his third victim there to the time of his arrest in July 1991. Princewill believes that he was Dahmer's prime target and that were it not for divine intervention and a chain of miracle events, he too would have succumbed to Dahmer's DSSM routine (drug, strangle, sex, mutilate). This book contains information about Dahmer and his secret life that has never before been made public. At the time of Dahmer's trial, Princewill was obliged to remain silent. Now he finally tells his story to the world; his close calls with the serial killer, his inspections of Dahmer's apartment and the police's failure to take public concerns seriously. The author also corrects false information that was broadcast by the media following Dahmer's arrest. In addition, there are transcripts of the interviews with Dahmer whilst in custody. Dahmer's childhood was not as traumatic as some might suggest and many children who suffer much greater hardship than Dahmer do not become serial killers. Although not for the faint hearted and at times disturbing, this book is a compelling read for anyone interested in the true story from the inside and the psychology of someone who killed not out of hate, but passion.
