In this memoir, a young African leader shares his thoughts on finding meaning in a life of purpose and service. It begins in 2009 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, where Jean-Marc Mercy receives a telephone call and learns that his father is dead. He decides to travel to Kalemie, his hometown, for his burial and becomes inspired to write a story about his family and his own leadership journey, sharing a message of hope and leadership lessons learned at different stages of his personal life. The Power of Will: Thoughts on Finding Meaning in a Life of Purpose and Service offers an inspiring and entertaining approach to unleash your potential as a leader and work on your passion, no matter your age or stage of life.  Jean-Marc Mercy is a career coach and human resources professional from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is co-founder and executive director of the Bridge Initiative (www.thebridge-youthinitiative.org), a social business dedicated to provide services to tackle youth unemployment. He has a leadership track record and several years of experience in talent management and program management with the United Nations and the nonprofit sector, a demonstrated commitment to community service, and knowledge of organizational development and human resources management. He holds a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management and Training from University of Leicester, a Master Certificate in Human Resources from Cornell University, a Certificate in Human Resource Management from University of South Africa, and a Diploma in Project Management from Ashworth College. He also serves as Country Coordinator of the African Network of Youth Policy Experts to address youth policy issues in the Democratic Republic Congo.
