Jesus said in John 8:44, 47, "You are of your father the devil, and the de of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and father of it. He who is of God hears God's words."There are two forces in this world-one of God, the Creator of all things, and the other one of Satan, God's adversary. We are all beings created in the image of God, but because of our forefathers Adam and Eve's obeisance to Satan, sin entered this world. Satan then took control of this world and brought all kinds of misery, heartache, sickness, disease, and death to mankind. In reality, the real person is the spirit man. Those who do not know the word of God will fall into Satan's trap and think they inherited the sickness, disease, anger, and all the fallen nature from their forefathers; and they try to live with it. Jesus bore all the sicknesses, disease, and curses and bore death upon Himself so that we can live victoriously (John 10:10). Satan attacks the people in their soul, mind, and body. Jesus has given the believers the authority and power over the forces of darkness, of Satan. One of the root causes for emotional and physical problems is the spiritual problem. Human beings are comprised of three components-the spirit, soul (mind, emotion, and will), and body. To be made whole, it is important to deal with the root cause. If a tree has a problem, in order to bear good fruit, the root needs to be treated and not just the surface. Similarly, people facing emotional and physical problems need to find the root cause, deep in their souls, and not just the outward symptoms. People can receive the healing for the whole person by the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus and by the authority of the word of God.

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
