The Phantom of Organic Evolution

'The Phantom of Organic Evolution' is an influential critique of evolutionary theory from the perspective of early 20th-century creationism. Written by George McCready Price, a pioneering figure in the development of flood geology, the work challenges the scientific consensus on biological transformism and the geological time scale. Price systematically examines the fossil record and the principles of stratigraphic succession, arguing that the evidence used to support organic evolution is based on circular reasoning and speculative assumptions.Throughout the text, the author presents a detailed counter-narrative to Darwinian thought, emphasizing a catastrophic interpretation of Earth’s history. By focusing on the gaps in the paleontological record and the complexities of biological life, the book seeks to reconcile natural observations with a specific theological worldview. 'The Phantom of Organic Evolution' serves as a significant historical document in the debate between science and religion, offering insight into the intellectual foundations of the modern creation science movement. It remains a primary source for those interested in the history of science, the evolution of biological thought, and the persistent dialogue regarding the origins of life. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
