In recent years, the fall in oil prices in 2014 has had repercussions on the public finances of oil-producing countries, which have been unable to build up sufficient financial reserves. And Chad, like all these other African countries, is not spared from this situation due to its heavy dependence on oil revenues.This study examines the experiences of civil servants in terms of their ability to withstand the crisis. It is part of a development sociology that analyzes solutions to crises initiated from 'outside', and highlights the creative and adaptive capacity of civil servants. Dynamic sociology and strategic analysis were used to understand social transformations and identify civil servants’ strategies. The results show that civil servants in N’Djamena are responding to the crisis by reducing their standard of living and engaging in parallel activities. The latter are a means of obtaining additional income, enabling them to adapt to the demands of everyday life.
