This is a blending of the Indian and White man culture as they came together on the Great Plains, which was known then as Dakota Territory. Moon Boy is now in early manhood and his childhood friends Cubby and Curly are still with him. Times are good. Little wars have come about and life on the plains is just as everyone would want it. But, change is on the wind. A white trapper and a couple of Cheyenne braves bring trouble to there happy lives. News of the white man arrival comes and Tall Elk’s band wonder how long there way of life will remain. Meanwhile a group of men thinking about gold and the wonders of the west can bring. Jon and his brother Hans plan a journey west. Now Tall Elk will have to face the decision of fighting or making friends with these new men, so unlike themselves. They will come together on the north banks of the Moreau River and only fate will decide the outcome.
