Throughout my priestly service, I have carried in my heart a deep desire to help believers return to the biblical understanding of the one true and living God-not as conceived by human speculation, but as revealed by God Himself in the Holy Scriptures, fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ, and made known by the Holy Spirit. The Church confesses one God. This is the faith of the prophets, the apostles, and the Fathers who proclaimed the same God of Israel-Yahweh, the self-existent I AM-as the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. From age to age, this unchanging confession has been the foundation of true worship: that the Creator of heaven and earth is one in essence, revealed as Father, through His Word, and by His Spirit.Throughout history, the mystery of the divine being has been expressed by the theological terms Trinity and one essence in three hypostases. The early Fathers of the Church employed these terms not to invent new ideas but to defend the apostolic faith against false teaching. Yet, over time, these expressions have sometimes been misunderstood-leading some to imagine three gods (tritheism), and others to think of the one God as merely appearing in three forms (modalism). Both errors obscure the living revelation of the one God who is Father, Word, and Spirit. This book, titled The Oneness of God: A Biblical Perspective, seeks to present the same ancient and apostolic faith in the clear and living language of Scripture rather than in the speculative terminology of philosophy. It does not attempt to define God’s inner essence-which remains beyond all human comprehension-but to contemplate His self-revelation: the one living God who creates, redeems, and sanctifies; who acts, speaks, and gives life. The God whom Israel worshiped as Yahweh has revealed Himself in the fullness of time as the Father, through His eternal Word (λόγος), and by His Holy Spirit. This revelation is not a departure from monotheism; it is its divine fulfillment. The Father’s self-manifestation through His Word and by His Spirit does not divide His oneness but unveils it in its fullness. The same God who said, 'Let there be light,' is the same who revealed Himself in the face of Jesus Christ and who now abides in us by His Spirit. The Scripture proclaims: 'For God who said, ’Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ' (2 Corinthians 4:6).The purpose of this work is not to introduce novelty but to restore clarity-to draw the mind and heart of the believer back to the living Word of God, where divine truth is revealed not in abstract formulas but in the history of salvation. The mystery of the one God is not a contradiction to reason but the revelation of divine love, that we may share in His life, holiness, and communion. This study is therefore not an exercise in speculation but a confession of faith: that the one God has revealed Himself as the Father, through His Word, and by His Spirit. Moses declared, 'The secret things belong to Yahweh our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law' (Deuteronomy 29:29). So, what remains hidden in the depths of God’s eternal being is His own mystery; but what He has revealed is given to us for faith, obedience, and worship. This book continues the theological journey begun in my earlier works-Yahweh: The Hebrew Name of God, The Heavenly Father: A Biblical Perspective, The Logos of God: A Biblical Perspective, and The Holy Spirit: A Biblical Perspective -now brought together into a unified contemplation of the one divine mystery.
