For many years, Deedra Lee has had visions of faces and locations that she doesn’t recognize. Having déjà vu moments, she hears others’ thoughts. Her dreams are a kaleidoscope of landscape that can only be found in the northwest. Deedra enrolls at the University of Washington. She hopes to follow a vision of the carvings that she has seen on the door of the library on the campus brochure. She is looking for explanations for her dreams and the voice in her head. She feels as though she is losing her mind. A small band of immortals are working and living in Seattle. She gets their attention and the renegades. Blaine Bluestar runs across Deedra on campus. He immediately knows he has found his soul mate. Now Deedra is being watched by this small band of immortals for her own safety. She doesn’t know she is and immortal. Until she is ready to accept the truth, she cannot be found by the cartel that controls the renegades. Her energy isn’t blocked, sending it out like a beacon. That will attract the wrong attention. Blaine goes underground to find out more information. As the others carefully manipulate Deedra.
