No fish swam up and ate it. I felt a soft spot in the ground, peeled back the grass, and found it was a nest of bees! Each day it was something new, each day it was something different that I didn’t expect. That’s why I liked the idea of publishing this book: to give children a surprise they didn’t see coming.' Originally from New Mexico, Denise Dorn has lived the past ten years on a small island in the Pacific. She began painting at a young age and has always been inspired by the beauty that surrounds her.
