The New Image

'The New Image' is a profound exploration of the intersection between spirituality, art, and the evolution of human consciousness. Written by the visionary architect and theosophist Claude Fayette Bragdon, this work delves into the concept of a ’new image’ of reality-one that transcends the purely material world to embrace a higher-dimensional understanding of existence. The text examines the transformative power of art and architecture, arguing that these disciplines should serve as vehicles for spiritual expression and the manifestation of cosmic truth. The book discusses the evolving role of women in society, the significance of sacred geometry, and the necessity of synthesizing scientific thought with mystical insight. Bragdon’s writing reflects his deep fascination with the fourth dimension, presenting it not merely as a mathematical abstraction but as a spiritual frontier that humanity is beginning to inhabit. 'The New Image' serves as both a philosophical manifesto and a visionary guide for those seeking to understand the shifting cultural and spiritual landscape of the early twentieth century. It remains a significant text for readers interested in Western esotericism, metaphysics, and the philosophy of aesthetics. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
