His original brand of hip, character-driven literary fiction focuses on the things we do to ourselves when we hate ourselves, and what it means to be young, addicted, and unloved. Sonbert's literature is born not out of lectures and writing classes. His is more the visceral, instinctual work that reminds one of early Charles Bukowski and Jack Kerouac.
