No one amongst the whole of our population entertained the notion that the planet they inhabited had intelligence, for it was during the formation of its vast oceans and erupting terrain that the earth, in its silent wisdom, bore children of its own. Born of the earth, the naturlings emerged from the elements. They lived through countless centuries in silence and without notice, fulfilling their life’s duties and adhering to the unspoken laws-until humankind emerged.Cronus, the naturling’s emperor, soon learns from his prophetess that the humans will come across the great salted waters to invade the region close to his home. With the looming threat of the deadly parasite, he vows to exterminate the pests in the immediate area, as well as the rest of the world.Nitesh is one of the elites known as The Four. He learns of the emperor’s plan and reminds his leader that they live by the law that forbids them to use the earth’s influences to take life from it. If he chooses to follow through with his lust to obliterate the humans, the naturlings and the planet will suffer dire consequences.Cronus is steadfast in his decision as his hatred for the humans runs long and deep. Because of this, Nitesh and his offspring, Breri, take action in an effort to impede their leader’s plan.

I couldn’t believe my ears. Vampires? It sounded so silly saying it, let alone thinking it. I had to throw every belief-and disbelief-I ever had, right out the damn window. What Dante came to offer me was what kept me from running out of the room... or telling Kyle. It was a chance for me to have a life without being hunted down by the two men who treated me as though I was a f...
