Luigi Perret Sagrini (1809-1874) was a child prodigy on guitar, first performing at the age of eight in his hometown of Chambéry, France. In Paris in 1825 he performed in concert with Liszt and published his first seven opus numbers for guitar when he was just sixteen years old. His opus 4 was dedicated to Luigi Legnani, and Legnani in turn dedicated his opus 9 and opus 32 to Sagrini. He performed continuously in Paris, northern France and Brussels before arriving in London in 1829. He continued publishing and performing for many years with London as his permanent home. Due to declining health, he stopped performing and devoted his time to teaching and publishing songs with guitar accompaniment. This volume includes all located editions Luigi Sagrini published from 1825 to 1850 for guitar solo, guitar duo, as well as guitar and piano.
