The 'oncologist’s mindset' should be understood as an illustrated summary of the key steps that should ideally mark the career path of an oncologist-covering prevention as well as curative and palliative care. Additional activities that are considered complementary should be included: maintaining a cancer registry and scientific writing. The foreword to this work was written by Eric Leroy of the IRD, a member of the National Academy of Medicine.
