This book started out as a journal that I started writing after I went to church and the pastor gave me a message from God, The message really touched my heart so I began to research a 600 year old Bible that was given to me by my father Carl when I was eighteen. I didn’t realize it when I first got the Bible that it had been passed down through generations in my family starting with my great (x three I think) grandmother who’s father Reverend James Thomas Patton Irvine fought in the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836. This war was a revolutionary war that resulted in Texas becoming an independent nation and country. My fourth great grandfather Reverend James Thomas Patton Irvine became a minister after the war and started the first Methodist churches in Texas. He and his four brothers all fought in the battle and his name is engraved in the San Jacinto Monument and museum and his picture is kept in the museum library. Through more research I discovered that there is archeological evidence that proves that the Bible is real and that God exists. After this I felt a strong need to share my story with others who love learning about history and genealogy. The Bible says that in the end times all of the lies will be exposed and only the truth will remain. And that God always keeps his promises to his children. I have accumulated such a vast amount of research that I had to make this book the first book in a series because it is too much information to put into only one book. I have just finished my second book of this series and I am in the editing stages at this point deciding what needs to be kept in edition #2 and what needs to go into the next book #3. The series is called Texas Royalty because when I told a friend of mine the story about my 4th great grandfather and showed his picture from the San Jacinto monument he said 'So your Texas Royalty'. I never knew that there was such a thing in Texas, but it refers to the first people who were in Texas when it was still a part of Mexico and fought in the Battle of San Jacinto, the revolutionary war that was won in eighteen minutes. God blessed Texas with his own hand and we have been here ever since 1830. 6
