The Legacy of Jahanian BrothersA Zoroastrian family of merchants from Yazd, Iran. The Jahanian Brothers were a Zoroastrian merchant family from Yazd, Iran. This history is based on the personal, familial, commercial, and political correspondence of the Jahanian family during the late Qajar period (1879-1916) in Iran.Despite facing numerous challenges as Zoroastrians living in Yazd and having modest means, they established one of the largest commercial enterprises in the region, with branches throughout Iran, as well as in Bombay, London, and New York. The Jahanian family was a pioneer in early banking activities during the late Qajar era. They were strong supporters of the Constitutional Revolution of 1906 in Iran, a movement that ultimately led to the assassination of Parviz, the eldest brother.
