Ethenor survived gods, wars, and monsters. It was never meant to survive the dead. Sixteen years after the last Old God fell, peace has transformed Ethenor into a sanctuary where humans, elves, trolls, fairies, goblins, dwarves, imps, and divine descendants live beneath the same royal-blue-and-gold banners. Then the kingdom’s magic begins to die. Healing stones become useless. Ancient weapons lose their power. Protective runes go dark-and the dead rise with their souls trapped inside decaying bodies. As the infection tears through the castle and surrounding city, Prince Alexander Soterios and his companions must fight without the divine powers that once made them nearly unstoppable. Ethan and Michael struggle to protect their people, while Faelan, Petra, Aurora, Gideon, and the next generation search for a way beyond the collapsing walls. But in a world where every death creates another monster and even the animals cannot pass peacefully into the afterlife, survival may not mean victory. It may only mean being the last person alive to watch the light go out. The Last Light of Ethenor is an approximately 21,000-word young adult dark fantasy horror novella and an alternate-universe story set within The Chronicles of Ethenor.
