The purpose of this book is to present an unabashed view of a way of life that has been largely forgotten within a relatively short period of time. Even though such a life is not realistic in today’s fast-paced society, I think it is worthwhile to revisit that era not just to provide a sense of what it was like to live at the time, but also to gain an understanding of the mindset of the people of that time. I was one of those people.
