The Hunt for Smitty tells the story of 15 cousins who set out in a boat to capture a mysterious lake monster. By the end of the day, they’ve had the adventure of a lifetime when they fend off hunters who want to capture the lake monster, even as Smitty struggles to save a bridge from collapse. In the end, the cousins have made a friend for life. It’s an interactive read as Smitty appears partially concealed in the illustrations. The reader can see him. The characters in the story can’t, until the moment he reveals himself. Illustrated in lively colors.
