This volume continues the series published by the Construction History Society which look at various aspects of the history of construction. The book contains 44 papers delivered at the 8th Annual Conference of the Construction History Society held in August 2021. The theme of the conference was Trades and Professionalism and many of the papers cover this subject, but the volume contains papers on many other aspects of the history of building construction including papers on the history of fountains and water supply, the construction of domes and vaults, formwork and scaffolding. contracts and contracting, prefabrication and labour.
