The Haunted Bookshop is a novel written by Christopher Morley, first published in 1919. The story takes place in a second-hand bookstore in Brooklyn, New York, owned by Roger Mifflin. The bookstore is haunted by the ghost of Mifflin’s former partner, Aubrey Gilbert, who died in World War I. Mifflin is a passionate book lover and believes that books can change people’s lives. He is visited by a young advertising man, Titania Chapman, who is looking for a rare book for her boss. Mifflin and Chapman become friends and work together to solve a mystery involving stolen books and a secret society. The novel explores the power of literature and the importance of independent bookstores.
