The Founders created the first modern nation-state; via the democratic principle that political sovereignty lives in the citizenry, not in a divinely sanctioned monarchy; the capitalistic principle that economic productivity depends upon individual energies in the marketplace rather than state policies; the principle that the individual, not society or the state, is the sovereign political unit; and the judicial principle that all citizens are equal before the law. They defied conventional wisdom in four unprecedented achievements:They won a war for colonial independence against the most powerful military and economic power in the world, while fighting Smallpox and Tuberculosis. They established the first large-scale republic in the modern world. They invented political parties that institutionalized legitimate opposition. They established the principle of the legal separation of church and state.More than 100 risked their lives to make the USA survive until today. We compiled a list of those taking the greatest risk, while contributing the greatest effort to our Revolution and Constitutional development. Each Founding Father offered unique contributions. Samuel Adams and Franklin were world class philosophers. Washington was a great natural leader. One founder entered Harvard at age 12, others entered at 14 and 15 years. Paul Revere was our first industrialist. Franklin was equal to Thomas Edison. The Founders are the most important people one can study to understand the American ideals of freedom and liberty. No ancient philosopher, nor Greco-Roman leaders reached their accomplishment.Washington was 43 as Commanding General. Jefferson was 33 writing the Declaration of Independence. John Adams was 40 as he argued independence. Madison was 36 at Constitutional Convention. John Jay was 43 as first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Alexander Hamilton was 33 as Secretary of the Treasury. Franklin was 70 at Second Continental Congress. Many of the Founders feared new generations might not be capable of maintaining American liberty. They were acutely aware, only Greece and Rome had successful democracies or republics, Greece 800 years, Rome 500 years. The Founding Fathers left an unparalleled legacy which benefits the entire world. More than 5 billion Christians and Catholics worship freely. Wars that characterize our world see less frequency, at far lower death rate. Many Founders established colleges and universities. These Greatest Leaders defeated the greatest military in the world while fighting Smallpox and Tuberculosis epidemicThese achievements were won without the guillotine or firing squad, or violent revolutions such as France, Russia, and China.

But Steffens' dogged quest for truth and justice set...
