Keeping this disaster a secret from Doris is short-lived, and she sentences Gary to sell the car and get the money back. He and Jo are relegated to the garage where they tinker with the car while 'for sale' ads hit the local media. Gary’s entourage of buddies come and go proffering advice and encouragement for him to stand up to Doris and be a man. With Jo as the token female, they turn the garage into a man cave which becomes a neighborhood hang out much to Doris’ chagrin. A series of misadventures by Gary and his gang have Doris pulling out her hair in frustration. As the car is about to be sold, their pet dog plays an inadvertent part in delaying the inevitable.
