Angel Chanel Edmonds has had to deal with her own misfortunes throughout her young life. She’s young and beautiful, but beneath the surface there’s more than meets the eyes. Having never had a real relationship with her father, and watching her mother struggle through intense relationships leaving her only the shell of the woman she once was, Angel vows to never be like either of her parents. All she wants is love and to have the family she’s never had, but her dreams seem more difficult to obtain than she thought. When she meets Jabari 'Junior' Allen, the fine up and coming rapper rising from the Bay Area streets it seems that her dreams have come true! In him she finds her soulmate. One who would love her through and through. For the first time in her young life, Jabari makes Angel feel seen! He makes her feel beautiful and loved! She believes he’s her soul mate and throughout their relationship she is determined to make their love a lasting one. However, Jabari is deeply invested in his rock star lifestyle as a rapstar. Drugs money and sex rule in his world, and having come from a broken home himself, he doesn’t know the first thing about love. Yet Angel’s loving nature keeps him on his toes and he’s not willing to give that up! It’s not long before their love affair takes a turn for the worse and things end up in all kinds of controversy throughout the media. The two soon become prey to the world who aggressively ravishes their shortcomings and flaws in love. It isn’t long before the relationship starts to seem too much to handle for the young couple. Angel however, is determined to stick by her boyfriend’s side as his ride or die, no matter what! Abuse, lies, and scandal are the name of the game, and it is at this moment where this Oakland girls’ strength will be put to the test! Remember that pressure creates diamonds!
